From Missile Silos to Smithsonian: The Origins and Success of Mid-Plains Waterproofing

In 1998, John Bredvick witnessed his father-in-law employ chemical grout injection to waterproof missile silos for Haliburton. Recognizing the vast potential of this defense-level technology beyond military applications, he founded Mid-Plains Waterproofing. Shortly after its inception, John secured a pivotal contract with the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center, a Smithsonian affiliate.

Demonstrating exceptional efficiency and cost-effectiveness, Mid-Plains swiftly resolved the center's major subgrade flooding issue, impressing the board of directors and completing the project seamlessly, without disrupting visitor flow. The success garnered significant media attention, propelling Mid-Plains into the spotlight and opening avenues for numerous local, state, and national waterproofing contracts.
